Dear Delegate,

This year is set to be an important year for the Indian mining sector primarily while expecting the implementation of the much awaited investor friendly National Mineral Policy. Initiatives are also underway from the government to make reforms so as to involve more private involvement in the coal sector under the Coal Act. The National Mineral policy also aims at putting thrust on the base metals sector, metallic and metallic sector while aiming at a larger role for investors in the sector.

Against this backdrop, we are pleased to inform you that Confederation of Indian Industry jointly with the Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Steel has decided to organize a two-day Global Mining Summit on 6-7 November 2008 at Kolkata. The Summit would mainly focus on investments in exploration for both coal and mineral mines, Policy framework and Best practices for achieving high growth in mining, role of financial institutions for developing mining sector, advances in technology in mining equipment, environmental & safety issues, etc.

You may register as a delegate to attend the summit by returning the filled-in reply form or register online through our secured online payment gateway.
